Week 4 Update: We made it!

Hey everyone!

This is our first post-campaign update! We want to thank each and every one of you for supporting us and for being part of this awesome community. We are so excited to get to work getting the Maslow to you so we can see the amazing things you build :)

Let’s talk a little about what to expect in the coming months, and of course we have the final 12 winners of the Support a School contest to announce!

So what’s next? If the timeline for this campaign is similar to our last one, it will take about two weeks for Kickstarter to process all the payments. As soon as that process finishes we are going to place orders for the parts for our beta testers. We are going to work quickly to get all the parts ordered, because the sooner we get the orders in, the sooner we get the parts back. While we are waiting for the parts to arrive we will be far from idle. We’re going to be fixing bugs, adding features based on your suggestions and doing all the behind the scenes stuff that has to happen like product liability insurance and paying taxes. We’re going to stick with the weekly Wednesday update to keep you in the loop.

As soon as all of our parts are delivered, we will work as quickly as possible to get Beta Tester Kits in boxes and sent to you! Additionally, we’ll work on more informational videos to help you all get a better understanding of what’s coming your way, including an assembly video, a tutorial for GroundControl, and potentially others.

For the final week of the campaign, we have 12 winners of the Support a School contest to announce! Collectively, these educational institutions garnered 1,535 votes for their institutions. At the end of the campaign, we had 50 backers give in the Support a School tier, and we are so humbled by this number. It’s incredible to see how many others want to help us in getting Maslows into schools. In total, we were able to select 38 winning educational institutions, and as such received more money for shipping to schools than needed! We promise to save this money and use it to ship machines we donate in the future. We will continue to accept nominations and votes and will begin selecting winners again when we re-open sales.

Without further ado, the final 12 winners are…

1) Vector Space in Lynchburg, Virginia

2) Tehama County Probation Maker Space in Red Bluff, California

3) The Maker Station in Marietta, Georgia San Mateo County 4-H Maker Camp and entrepreneurial Project in Pacifica, California

4) FRC Team Komplete Kaos in Australia

5) Columbus Robotics in Columbus, Indiana

6) Norwich Hackspace in England

7) Trickum Middle School in Lilburn, Georgia

9) Tabor d’Ampte in The Netherlands

10) Gardiner Regional Middle School in Gardiner, Maine

11) Columbus Space Program in Columbus, Georgia

12) Eagan High School FIRST Robotics Team #2220 in Eagan, Minnesota

Thanks again for everything. We’re so happy to have made it to the end of the campaign with such great success. We’ll try to keep you updated on a weekly basis as progress is made. As always, feel free to reach out to us via Kickstarter or at info@maslowcnc.com if you have any questions or comments. At this point we will be transitioning mainly back to communicating via our website and forums, save for future Kickstarter updates. If you have a question, please check www.maslowcnc.com as we will be updating content there.

If you are celebrating the holiday this Thursday, we hope it is wonderful for you. We plan to spend some good time with our families and get back to it in the coming days!

Until next week,

The Maslow Team Bar, Hannah & Tom
