Maslow Kits Back in Stock!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Final Kickstarter Shipping Update:

The batch of kits destined for the EU have been sent out which feels great.

I know that there are a handful of kits globally which still haven’t been sent out and over the next two days I will be going through the spreadsheets to confirm which kits are actually not sent out and which ones are marked incorrectly. That is going to remain my top priority until every one is delivered. I am very very excited to switch focus back fully to machine development.

Firmware 1.06 Release

Firmware version 1.06 is out!

This update includes a number of fixes for bugs and tweaks to address quirky behavior. Some notable changes in this update are:

  • Fixing the prob panel for automatic z-axis adjustment

  • Making it so that the calibration process will work correctly when run back to back (ie without retracting and extending between runs)

  • Using a different more reliable state variable to indicate when the machine is ready to move

  • Fixing editing file names for files in the internal file system

  • Correcting the cooling fan behavior when running the set z-stop command

As always if you have any issues or feedback with this update please let us know in the forums!

Maslow 4.1 Kits Back in Stock

Now that we have nearly all of the kickstarter kits sent out (there are about 10 stragglers that I’m working through, and about 20 that are still missing addresses) we have a good sense of how many parts are left over meaning we can start taking new orders.

That is great news, because as much as I would LOVE to get to focus fully on designing and playing with robots, selling things is an important part of being a business.

Maslow 4.1 kits are in stock now and will ship out in the next week or so as soon as I get these last kickstarter orders sent out. US orders will ship from within the US and international orders will ship directly from China to reduce the impact of tariffs.

Projects:

As always we’ve got a cool crop of new projects from the forums to share this week!

@Sintrogers is this week’s project of the week winner with his kids Kart project. I will be sending him a free router bit to say thank you for sharing his incredible work!

This week’s projects were dominated by @Bhambrew. First he shared this phenomenal speaker box that he made and shared some tips on how to precisely position the parts on the spoil board.

Next @Bhambrew shared this very nice ski rack that he built:

And finally he rounded out his sports equipment storage portfolio with this elegant fishing rod holder

Digging a little further back in the forums to find projects which haven’t been posted yet to give @Bhambrew some competition, we find this very very cool section of a wiki house built by @Igor_Martin. This kind of thing is the ultimate goal for Maslow and it’s great to see the community working on it.

And finally last but not least we have this very clever stage effect mechanism from @MrN808. Check out the forum post for a video of it in action!

As always you can help us pick the project of the week by casting your vote in the forums here!

One last thing that I want to call attention to this week is this really cool 3D printed pen adapter. We’ve seen a couple of pen adapters in the past, but this one is uniquely simple.

That’s it for this week, have a great week everyone!
