Project of the Week is Back!

Happy Wednesday Everyone:

I’ve been out of town taking care of a family commitment this week so I haven’t been as productive as usual since I’ve been away from my machine.

While I didn’t have access to my Maslow I have been working on trying to track down missing addresses and making sure that kits which haven’t been delivered for some reason (missing information, change of address, couldn’t be delivered the first time, etc) are sent out ASAP. It’s for sure been a textbook case of “The first 90% take the first 90% of the work and the last 10% take the other 90% of the work”. We’re making good progress though and getting close.

By far the largest group which hasn’t gotten a tracking number yet is kits which are shipping to the EU. Last week they arrived by train and I was hoping that we would have those sent out already and be sending out tracking numbers, but it’s been slower than I would like.

I did get them to send me a picture of our kits in the German warehouse and they say that they will start to ship them out later this week.

I will keep on top of that. I am sorry that this is taking so long.

Project of the Week:

Since I haven’t had Anna’s help I’ve been too overwhelmed to do project of the week, but it’s been on my ToDo list for awhile and seeing everyone’s projects is so fun so it’s back (hopefully every week from now on).

Projects are eligible any week so if you have something you haven’t posted yet, post it and maybe get a free router bit!

It’s tough to choose so you can vote for up to two choices this week!

Forum member @Paul_Smyk used a neat technique of gluing multiple sheets of plywood together to create a thicker board to create decorative supports for a 10’ computer desk that he is building. Hopefully we will get to see the finished product in the future.

@Sintrogers took apart an old walking assistant and repurposed the wheels into a spectacular kids cart.

@Alex_S designed and built this clever folding toddler kitchen helper

Very much in the same theme, forum member @whoisdis created a beautifully done toddler step stool. Given that this is a theme that we have seen before, maybe we need to make a parametric version in Abundance for a design like this.

Forums member @N8DGR8 used one of my favorite tricks of combining 3D printing with CNC cutting to make this honey bee hive:

And finally last but not least we got this very helpful engraving demonstration from forums member @Betalombo. I appreciate him taking the time to show how this is done because it's something that I have been meaning to experiment with myself.

You can cast your vote for project of the week in the forums here. The winner will receive a free router bit.

If there are projects that I’ve missed since the last project of the week contest was held, nominate them in the forums and we’ll include them in next week’s contest!

Have a great week everyone!
